How Many Scalp Painting Treatment Sessions Will Be Needed And How Long Does Each Session Take?

Scalp Painting treatments are usually completed within 3 sessions to achieve the expected result. Sessions should be at least 1 week apart to let your skin heal and the pigments settle so 3 sessions can be completed in 2 weeks. We recommend the first 2 sessions to be done from 1 weeks to 1 month and the 3rd one can be done 1 week to 1 month after.

Day 1

The first session typically lasts 4 hours. It includes the optional application of a topical anesthetic which takes 30 minutes to take effect.

Day 8

The second session takes between 3h and 3h30min. We recommended to have it done 1 week after the initial procedure. Density is added and the color is adjusted using 2 to 3 different pigment shades to match your natural hair and the hairline is refined.

Day 15

The last session can take place 1 week to 1 month after the second session to perfect the color and the hairline. The last session usually takes 2 to 3 hours.

Does Scalp Micropigmentation Hurt?

Most of our clients assess the level of pain as very mild and easily bearable.

If you cannot stand the pain, a topical anesthetic can be applied on your scalp before and during procedure although we prefer not using it to avoid potential undesirable skin reactions. During and after the treatment, your scalp will feel hot for a few hours.

How Long Does Scalp Micropigmentation Last?

The result of a scalp micropigmentation (SMP) treatment usually lasts more than 5 years and slightly fade without discoloration over time. Fading can be reduced by limiting exposure to sun UV rays and keeping the scalp clean and moisturized. Once the SMP results begin to fade, touch-ups are recommended to maintain the desired look.
